Hello all!
Here is a little information about the Florida Alternative Break trip:
Currently there are 9 people traveling to Florida for the trip. The trip to Chicago was cancelled so the students attending that trip were invited to come along with us. Three of the five chose to attend the Florida trip. We are leaving very early on January 3, 2010. The group will be flying out of Milwaukee into Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which is about an hour away from the hostel we will be staying at in Florida City. We are renting two mini-vans for travel within Florida.
We are within days of leaving for Florida and I am feeling very excited and a little nervous. I can't wait to get to Florida and work in Biscayne and Everglades National Parks but I'm a little nervous about leaving my family behind for a week. I have never been away from my children this long before. I am extremely excited about getting to know the people attending the trip
more than what I have in our meetings prior to now. I think it will be fun to learn a little more about the places we will be working in, as well as how to work together with people I hardly know. We have one last manditory meeting on Wednesday as a group. Any new information I get I will post here later that day.
